Best Magnetic Glass Whiteboards for Offices: A Guide to Choosing the Right Board

Choosing the right whiteboard for an office is about more than finding a surface to write on. The board should support the way people work, fit naturally into the space and withstand everyday use.

Magnetic glass whiteboards combine a smooth writing surface with a clean, contemporary design. They are suitable for meeting rooms, individual workspaces and collaborative environments where ideas need to be shared and developed.

But which type of glass whiteboard is best for your office?

Why Choose a Magnetic Glass Whiteboard for Your Office?

Traditional whiteboards are practical, but glass whiteboards offer additional advantages in terms of appearance, maintenance and durability.

A magnetic glass whiteboard provides a non-porous writing surface that is easy to clean and resistant to the staining and ghosting commonly associated with traditional whiteboards.

The magnetic functionality also allows users to attach notes, documents and visual materials directly to the board, provided suitable magnets are used.

For offices where both functionality and interior design matter, glass whiteboards offer a practical solution without compromising the overall appearance of the workspace.

1. Wall-Mounted Glass Whiteboards for Meeting Rooms

Wall-mounted glass whiteboards are a natural choice for meeting rooms, conference spaces and offices with dedicated collaboration areas.

Because they are fixed to the wall, they provide a permanent writing surface without taking up valuable floor space.

The CHAT BOARD Classic is available in 13 standard sizes and 25 standard colours, making it possible to adapt the board to different room sizes and interior concepts.

A larger board can provide space for workshops and team discussions, while a smaller version may be better suited to individual offices or compact meeting rooms.

Best suited for: Meeting rooms, conference rooms and permanent collaboration spaces.

2. Mobile Glass Whiteboards for Flexible Workspaces

Not every office needs a fixed writing surface.

In flexible workspaces, a mobile whiteboard allows teams to move their ideas between different areas, whether they are working in a meeting room, an open office or a temporary project space.

Mobile glass whiteboards are particularly useful in environments where furniture layouts change frequently or where several teams share the same facilities.

The CHAT BOARD Sprinter offers a mobile writing surface designed for flexible working environments.

For spaces that combine writing and pinning, CHAT BOARD Mobile provides a magnetic glass surface on one side and BuzziFelt on the other.

Best suited for: Flexible offices, workshops, collaborative spaces and project teams.

3. Glass Whiteboards with Acoustic Functions

In open-plan offices, visual collaboration is only one part of creating a functional workspace. Noise and distractions can also affect how people work.

Combining writing surfaces with acoustic materials allows office furniture to serve more than one purpose.

CHAT BOARD Move Acoustic combines a magnetic glass writing surface with acoustic materials, making it relevant for offices where collaboration and sound management are both priorities.

These solutions can be particularly useful in shared workspaces, creative environments and areas used for informal meetings.

Best suited for: Open-plan offices, shared workspaces and collaborative environments.

4. Choosing the Right Size for Your Office

The ideal whiteboard size depends on the number of people using it, the available wall space and the type of work being carried out.

For smaller offices, a compact glass whiteboard may be sufficient for notes, reminders and individual planning.

Larger meeting rooms often benefit from a wider writing surface that allows several ideas, diagrams or project stages to remain visible at the same time.

Before choosing a size, consider how many people will typically use the board and how far away they will be sitting.

5. Choosing Colours That Complement Your Workspace

A whiteboard does not have to be white.

Glass whiteboards are available in a wide range of colours, allowing them to become part of the office interior rather than simply a functional addition.

Neutral colours can create a subtle and understated appearance, while stronger colours can introduce contrast and visual interest.

For architects and interior designers, the ability to coordinate writing surfaces with furniture, materials and surrounding colours offers greater design flexibility.

With 25 standard glass colours available across selected CHAT BOARD products, there are many possibilities for creating a cohesive workspace.

Which Magnetic Glass Whiteboard Is Best for Your Office?

There is no single whiteboard that works best for every office. The right choice depends on how the space is used.

For permanent meeting rooms, a wall-mounted solution such as Classic provides a dedicated writing surface.

In flexible environments, mobile products such as Sprinter make it easier to move between workspaces.

Where writing, pinning and acoustic considerations are important, multifunctional solutions such as Mobile and Move Acoustic offer additional possibilities.

The most important consideration is choosing a board that supports everyday activities while complementing the surrounding environment.
