Sustainable thinking put into action

As manufacturers we have an undeniable responsibility to face the global challenges head on, and to do whatever we can to be part of the solution rather than the problem.

Focusing on sustainable means of making products, where components are reusable, materials safe, healthy, and fully accounted for, and most of the energy used comes from renewable sources, we are able to contribute to a circular economy where products enter a lifecycle of continuous reutilisation and redistribution, hereby turning waste into value.

 

Accountability

By constantly keeping our eye on the ball, continuing to find new ways of optimising in all aspects of our manufacturing process and material use, we are turning environmental and ethical values and intentions into concrete action, while maintaining full transparency across all products, components, and practices.

Credibility and accountability are vital factors to us. They provide an added sense of security to customers and partners in a time where CSR and sustainability have become much-used buzzwords, meaning that it can sometimes be a challenge to distinguish “trendy” greenwashing from real, measurable action.

Documentation is essential when it comes to separating the good from the less bad.

 

Transparency

With the Cradle to Cradle^TM Products Program we have allied ourselves with an international partner with a clear and unambiguous definition of sustainability, and the highest standards for quality, demanding 360-degree verification and full transparency on all parameters, while maintaining a holistic and positive approach.

Working closely with Nordic accredited assessors and circular economy experts, Vugge til Vugge ApS, we have been through a vigorous process of analysing and reviewing each of our products and suppliers down to the smallest detail, carefully eschewing anyone not fully able or willing to pass the test of providing complete documentation and answer every question asked. As a result, our local partnerships have grown even further, and we now have full insight and complete control of every component and production stage, all with the added bonus of having reduced overall CO₂ emissions.

 

Commitment

Working with Cradle to Cradle is an ongoing and committed process, constantly moving forward, and setting new goals and higher success criteria. Having six of our best-selling flagship products, Classic, Elements, Orbit, SQUAD, SQUAD Solid and Mobile, Cradle to Cradle Certified^TM at Bronze level is the first documented step on the carefully mapped road towards achieving our ambition to be best in class and to raise the standards for what can be accomplished through working with sustainability as the key ingredient.
